The Guardians of the Galaxy video game is a new Marvel’s franchise that will be released in 2020. The game was recently shown at the D23 Expo and it looks like it is going to be amazing!

A new eight-minute gameplay video for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy shows Peter Quill and the rest of the crew interacting. Given the team dynamics seen in previous games, the choice to make Quill (aka Star-Lord) the center of the single-player game seems surprising. From Marvel’s Avengers to earlier Marvel games like Ultimate Alliance or X-Men, switching between characters was almost always a given.
It’s obvious that the game is intended to help players build leadership abilities. The campaign’s development is influenced by how the team is led and how resources are managed. It also has an impact on how the team reacts to Quill. Quill may call a “huddle” during battle to bolster the team’s morale. There are additional exploring and puzzle-solving phases that need team members to be chosen. If a player selects a team member who should not be utilized, the right team member(s) may come up to fix the issue.
It may seem that casting players as probably the least distinctive member of the Guardians was a mistake, but now that we’ve gotten our hands on the game, we can clearly see why. More than stepping into the shoes of Star-Lord in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s about stepping into the shoes of a leader.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, developed by Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix, will be released on October 26 for PC and consoles. There are a few 4K screenshots in this gallery.
