The Elder Scrolls Online is getting NVIDIA DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) with the release of Update 22. This will make textures more crisp and clear, making it easier to read text on items and weapons.

With the release of The Elder Scrolls Online, NVIDIA is releasing a new technology called DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing). This new technology will be used to improve image quality.

NVIDIA’s DLAA (Deep Learning Anti Aliasing) technology will be used for the first time in The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). On social media, lead graphics designer Alex Tardif announced the news, describing how it’s a great match for ESO. Without utilizing the DLSS upscaling component, the function will enhance graphics while maintaining a high FPS.

Following the release of NVIDIA’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR in 2021, supersampling technology has become more popular. Intel is also working on a solution of its own. These methods produce the final picture at reduced resolutions, while DLAA attempts to accomplish the reverse by rendering at native resolution. The new technology is said to need the use of RTX graphics cards. NVIDIA has filed a patent for ray tracing anti-aliasing technology, thus an official announcement for DLAA may be on the way.

When we brought up and tested this hijacking of their DLSS technology into its own entity, the team at NVIDIA was amused and then supported us in publishing it. It’s not something that every game need, but it was a no-brainer for ESO. This is fantastic3

Native resolution, to be precise. The performance of TAA vs. Perf would be determined on the TAA implementation. Ours is on the lower end of the spectrum, thus it’s usually more costly than our TAA, but DLAA looks a lot nicer.

Bethesda is a fictional town in the United States.

Non-RTX graphics cards are unlikely to support Nvidia’s DLAA technology. DLAA is anticipated to work similarly to Nvidia’s DLSS technology, but without the upsampling feature. If DLAA performs as expected, it should provide results comparable to Super Sampling Anti-Aliasing, which should result in sharper, more detailed pictures with no visible aliasing, at least at high resolutions.
