Some titles on GeForce NOW’s Priority tier were limited last week, according to reports. This is purposeful, according to NVIDIA, since they “do not perform well enough at 60 frames per second on the GPUs utilized by Priority members.” The games continue to broadcast at 60 frames per second.

For majority of the 1,100+ games we’ve onboarded thus far, the maximum frames rendered per second is set to 60 or higher for our Priority Members. We found that certain exceptions do not execute well enough at 60 FPS on the GPUs used by Priority members. As a result, the default OPS for certain graphics-intensive games cannot be changed. This is done to guarantee that all Priority members get a consistent and high-quality experience. We do, however, continue to broadcast these games at 60 frames per second.

The GeForce NOW subscription website does not mention this, just noting that Priority members may watch up to 1080p at 60 frames per second. The RTX 3080 is twice as expensive as the RTX 2080, but it can handle 1440p at 120 frames per second.

NVIDIA has released a list of titles that have been capped as well as when they were introduced to the service. Despite being one of the games that users had reported on, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is not on the list. Despite the fact that the game uses NVIDIA DLSS 2.0, which might boost frame rates, users claim that the game’s menu limits the frame rate to 50 FPS and that this cannot be altered. GPU-intensive titles, such as The year is 2077, and the setting is Cyberpunk., are capped at 45 frames per second.
